The Dream Factory of Maine

We are currently working on Brandon’s Dream.  Brandon is a 7 year old boy from Howland, ME.  He has Cerebral Palsy and is legally Blind.  He has been granted a dream from the Dream Factory.

Brandon wanted a swimming pool because swimming allows him freedom of movement in the water that he is not able to have on land.  We are working on donations of materials and our part is to build a small deck surrounding the above ground pool, and to install a lift.

Stacey had the pool installed the first of August.  Unfortunately, Brandon could not use it during that hot stretch because he had an operation. We are planning on building the small deck and installing the lift this month.

I got involved with the Dream Factory by helping sponsor a dream.

The Dream Factory grants the “dreams” of seriously ill youngsters from 3 to 18 years of age.  We have sent a young man and his family from Kennebunkport to the Olympics, and a young cancer patient from Portland to the Super Bowl.  We have built playgrounds and installed several swimming pools, and have sent many, many families from all over Maine to Disney World.

Whatever a dream request, our goal remains the same.  To bring a moment of “sunshine” into a child’s life that is too often filled with pain and suffering.  The two chapters of The Dream Factory in Maine have granted over 250 dreams, and 25,000 have been granted nationally!

We are an all-volunteer organization that raises all of our own money, 95% of which stays in Maine and goes directly to fulfilling these very special dreams.  We count on the kindness of Maine companies and people to insure that we can always grant that special dream, no matter what the request.

There are several ways that you can support the Dream Factory:

  • Making a tax deductible cash donation
  • Sponsoring a team, a hole, or a cart sponsor for our annual golf tournament
  • Sponsoring a child’s “dream” request or holding a fundraiser for the Dream Factory

If you would like to get involved in supporting the Dream Factory in Maine, or if you should know of a child with a serious illness that may have a special “dream”, please call the number listed below.  Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
